nagfa proudly presents our fantastically-talented artist-friend, Md. Saad Md. Sarip a.k.a. awangpurba from Malaysia. His refreshing art is a hybrid of the Islamic-Middle-eastern-based calligraphy of 'Khat', and pictograms. The results are fun, and often paradoxymoronic depiction of stylish images. Some of our favourite awangpurba pieces:





How about this: a cromok (Malaysian band) logo which could be read in English alphabets and Malay-based Arabic writing of Jawi:
