After the recent pseudo-kufic where we used Roman letters instead of the more authentic Arabic script, at last, we revisited our past knowledge in Jawi writing - it had been quite a while since we last wrote in Jawi! - and come up with the first nagfa kufic piece.
.
Again, trying to stray from the norm of making square kufic designs, we came up with this circular-doughnutty form. The top piece is the form on itself while the bottom piece is the actual phrase 'Assalamualaikum warahmatullah' when stretched.
.
The phrase - a longer version of the salutation 'salam' - means 'may peace and Allah's blessings be upon you'.
