reflection: bedok

An eastern Singapore living estate, one of the oldest too. It's name - 'Bedok' - is derived from the Malay word 'beduk' which is a type of big drum used to signal the five daily prayer times (below).
* notice too the 'drum-stick'; it is made of two pieces of bamboo stick, maybe intended to amplify and resonate the 'echo' or 'twanging' of each drum-beat.
