and the next NAC Guest Challenger is...

Hi and salam to all!
.
We have counted the votes cast for NAC September 2007 (word: hybridity). As mentioned, the artist who receives the most number of votes will be invited as the Guest Challenger for a future NAC. As it is, the votes are as follows:
.
Frits Jonker (Holland): 2
Homero Larrain (Chile): 6
Diego Colombo (Italy): 2
Serpiente (Mexico): 1
Ruel Masacayan (Philippines): 1
Mark Palmer a.k.a. WowTattoos (USA): 1
.
Congratulations to Homero of Chile! We'll be emailing you the details soon..
.
*To make future NACs more participants-centric, we propose that the Guest Challenger vote for his favourite solution for his own challenge. The winning artist will then be the next Guest Challenger. We'll try this out and see how viable it is. Of course, suggestions are appreciated.

NAC September 2007: Hybridity

Salam!
.

After a long wait, we have finally compiled the September edition for NAC (nagfa's ambigram challenge). Again, we've seen new participants (a warm welcome from all of us at the NAC family!). The given challenge was the word - 'hybridity' - and through the entries, we've seen various interpretations, most participants went for the straightforward with emphasis on exuding individual styles; some went for brave, and surprisingly successful solutions; there were experiments with fonts and depictions of hybridity.

.

All in all, this NAC is in itself a 'hybrid'; proof that different artists with different styles from different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds, have made it a considerable success. Applause to all! Respect and salute, and a handshake to all..

.
humbly,

nagfa,

nagfa's ambigram challenge (NAC) September 2007

For this month of September, the proposed nagfa ambigram challenge (NAC) takes another twist as this time we revert to the classic-traditional format of giving a one-word challenge. *Guess some twists here and there would only conjure up a status quo-esque Mobius Strip*.
.
The word for this month: 'hybridity'
* The concept most assosciated with ambigram designing is 'dualisme', where two extremes / opposites meet in one design, only to reveal themselves when in differred orientation. Thus, an ambigram could also be seen as a hybridity or hybrid, as it is formed by two concealed entity. In this month's challenge - and as we personally feel that it is indeed a very cooperative word - we would really love to see the artists' personality exuding from their design. And as an extra bonus...
.
The designer with the best ambigram design (votings through email and comments, please) will be invited as the Guest Challenger for a future NAC.. All the best!
.
Please submit designs to:
hopefully before 15th of October (for allowance for us to compile them before November). Please also include the chosen word for the design, your name (pseudonym allowed), country of origin, and website/blog (if any).
*Designers are allowed to send in more than one design/entry..
.
Salam,
