Year of the Dragon

Ushering in the Chinese Year of the Dragon, we've seen a few ambigrams done related to it. We've been trying something similar but with a nagfa touch. Not long ago, we've managed to come to this somewhat feasible solution:

Design wise: the nagfa banner, tied in together by the heart shape. This was done exclusively using only MS PowerPoint. Had the formula for quite a while now. The presentation is a nod to NastyBasty of Germany, the Guest Challenger for the coming NAC, known for his stark contrast of black and white and distinctly sharp pieces.

Another experimentation on Kufic designs (Romanized). Pardon the disgression. For this piece, the central hole? gap? void? space? was filled with a basic design found in traditional Kufic pieces.

Getting hooked now on kufic design; it's like jigsaw puzzle meets tetris. The real challenge is to get the configuration just right for a square outline. For this design, the internal square reads 'nagfa.blogspot.com' while the outside half-border (still maintaining the perfect square) reads 'naguib.fadilah'. Note that the 'F' also reads as an 'n' in a different orientation. ...maybe, we won't start searching for those scanner cable too soon now...
