After trying to solve our own 'armageddon-apocalypse' mini-challenge, we came across another suitable rotatuonal phrase solution for 'armageddon'. This now reads as 'Happy Birthday, Armageddon'.

Now, perhaps another workable piece would be a Jack the Ripper-Armageddon lake reflection. Any takers?

Hi and salam to all, hope you're in the best of health with loved ones. A quick post here:

Firstly, it has to be said that due to some technical problems with our email account circa April, some artists may discover that their emails (NAC entries) have not been received, thus their absence in the recently-posted compilation of the submitted entries.

.

To avoid a repetition of this unfortunate incident, we will reply at least an acknowledgement (we've been doing this quite regularly) to confirm each received email. Do remind / enquire us of the status of your email if we have yet to reply to it. :)

A brief update on the special NAC. We are currently refining some small details with the Guest Challenger of the special NAC. Estimated time of posting will be this Saturday.

In the meantime, we would love to introduce another talent in our ambigram fraternity: Azahary Arif from Singapore, whose recent designs exude a sense of well thought-of techniques and phrase combinations. Do drop by and say 'hi'.. :)

Some updates:

A: Mini-Challenges

Surprisingly, the mini-challenges which we posed - both as a curelixiremedy to our own list of unsolvable designs, and as a filler until the next NAC challenge is posed - proved very popular. We will post the submitted entries, some very good ones, soon.. (Thank you for those designers who had submitted valiant designs; our hats off to you..)

In the meantime, more mini-challenges for those still thirsty for an ambigram fix..

1) Superman-Kryptonite (reflection or ambigram, or even figure/ground)

B: Special Edition NAC

We are currently in discussion with a prominent figure in the Ambigram Community about a special edition NAC. This NAC would be different from previous ones due to the prestige and bragging rights of the eventual winner, not to mention the 'prize' as the carrot. More would be revealed in due time.. Look out for that!

mini-challenge: solutions by Alessandro Pocaterra

Previously, we had posted some design proposals which had proved elusive to us for years (!); we never expected a solution for them, and definitely not quite so soon. Guess what, Alessandro Pocaterra from Italy proved us wrong. We were amazed, really, with his designs (NastyBasty's solution too, which we had highlighted in one of our recent posts), of how simple thin lines, fuss-free managed to be so effective. Here they are:

The strokes in 'I love' also read as 'you!' on closer observation. There seem to be numerous ways to present this ever-popular phrase. Maybe an informal invitation/mini-challenge here to share other solutions..
